Ortolan Bunting - on the Brink of Extinction

During the spring of 2026, I've been recording ortolan buntings for BirdLife. The known remaining population in southern Sweden is just 5–10 breeding pairs. The film highlights the threats facing this species and provides concrete agricultural advice for farmers on how to support a population on the brink of extinction. The film will be edited during the summer and available to watch on this page in the autumn.
